Welcome to VinCheck.ro. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the website at https://www.vincheck.ro and all features provided by it (the "Service"). The Service is operated by HTTP 402 Payment Required SRL, registered in Bucharest, Romania.

By accessing or using the Service you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please stop using the Service.

1. The Service

VinCheck.ro provides free decoding of Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) and aggregates publicly available data into vehicle history reports. The information is sourced from public registries, manufacturer databases, OEM partners, and user-submitted reviews.

2. No warranty on data accuracy

We make commercially reasonable efforts to provide accurate, up-to-date information, but the Service is provided "as is". VIN decoding and history reports rely on third-party data sources that may be incomplete, delayed, or contain errors.

Do not use VinCheck.ro as the sole basis for buying or selling a vehicle. Always verify in person, request a physical inspection, and obtain official documentation (e.g., RAR check, ITP, registration certificate) before any transaction.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

Scrape, crawl, or otherwise extract data from the Service in bulk.
Use the Service to harass, defame, or violate the rights of any vehicle owner or third party.
Attempt to bypass rate limits, security measures, or authentication.
Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service.
Resell or redistribute reports, data, or features without our written permission.
Submit false, misleading, or unlawful content (including fake reviews).

4. User-generated content

When you submit a vehicle ownership review or any other content, you grant VinCheck.ro a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, display, translate, and distribute that content on the Service. You confirm that the content is your own and does not infringe any third party's rights.

We may moderate, edit, or remove content that violates these Terms or applicable law without notice.

5. Intellectual property

All trademarks, logos, page layouts, branding, source code, and aggregated data on the Service are the property of HTTP 402 Payment Required SRL or its licensors. You receive no license to these except for ordinary use of the Service as intended.

Manufacturer brand names (BMW, Audi, Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen, Renault, Dacia, etc.) are referenced only to identify vehicles. VinCheck.ro is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any vehicle manufacturer.

6. Free service and advertising

The core VIN check is free. The Service is supported by advertising, affiliate links, and optional partner integrations. Some links may be sponsored. This does not affect the technical accuracy of the VIN data we display.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, HTTP 402 Payment Required SRL and its affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from:

your use of or inability to use the Service;
any reliance on information returned by the Service;
unauthorised access to or alteration of your transmissions;
statements or conduct of any third party on the Service.

Our total aggregate liability to you shall not exceed EUR 50 or the equivalent in your local currency.

8. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless VinCheck.ro and HTTP 402 Payment Required SRL from any claim, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the Service.

9. Privacy

Use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the Service at any time, without prior notice, for any reason — including suspected breach of these Terms. Sections of these Terms that by their nature survive termination (e.g., IP, liability, indemnity) shall remain in force.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Romania. Any dispute shall be submitted to the competent courts of Bucharest, Romania, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protection rules in your country of residence.
